Carers for the elderly experience stress and their careers suffer

An ageing population means that increasing numbers of people – predominantly women – need to spend time caring for elderly relatives. These carers experience high levels of stress; and if they are also in work, their careers are affected and their employers too could suffer if they lose the services of skilled people for sustained periods.
