Climate Change Protesters Demand Meaningful Action At COP21

The Conference of Parties (COP21) is expected to draw 750 stakeholders to Paris this week to address critical climate change issues. And hundreds of charged activists are taking to the streets to ensure that their voices –- and concerns –- are also heard.

These protesters are aware, as the World Health Organization (WHO) pointed out, that the “stakes are high” when it comes to climate change. According to WHO, 7 million people die every year due to air pollution alone. Climate change also affects human health by reducing food security and compromising water supplies and sanitation.

And if the issue isn’t properly addressed, an estimated 100 million more people will plummet into poverty, according to the World Bank.

To urge COP21 attendees to take meaningful action, a number of advocacy groups, including Climacts Angels Guardians and Non violent action COP21, have already started convening in Paris to demonstrate and demand new and effective policies.
